LOCATION

GYTHIO is situated in the middle south of the greek peninsula Peloponnes.

Distances:
Athens - Gythio: 271 kms.
Thessaloniki - Gythio: 773 kms.
Volos - Gythio: 581 kms.
Patras - Gythio: 277 kms.

Gythio - Mistras: 48 kms
Gythio - Monemvasia: 64 kms.
Gythio - Areopoli: 28 kms.

The journey can be made: Either by airplane to Athens with link flight (possibly also direct flight) to Kalamata and by using a rented car. (booked from a foreign country it is more economically than locally rented)


Either by own car by using one of the many different ferries. Daily ship routes are alternatively starting from Venice with approx. 37 hours as well as starting from Ancona with approx. 21 hours passage duration - in each case to Patras as arrival port. Also from Patras as well as from Athens it needs approx. four until four and one-half hours travel time over Tripoli and Sparta to Gythion.

From Patras as well as from Athens needs about four until four and a half hours to come through Tripolis and Sparti to Gythion.
